The Brown RNA Center

RNA Center

Our mission is to advance RNA science through fundamental discovery, technology development, and translational impact that accelerates life-changing health solutions.

RNA Research at Brown University

RNA is central to every aspect of cellular and organismal biology and as such represents a centralizing principle throughout the life sciences, but one that expands into the major areas of biophysics, chemistry, material sciences, computational and mathematical sciences.

RNA research at Brown includes scientists with varied interests including evolutionary aspects of RNA science, genomics, basic biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, bio-engineering, etc.

“ Our Center has the common goal of defining the many ways RNA impacts cells and organisms, all with the spirit of collaboration. ”

Juan Alfonzo, PhD Mencoff Family Executive Director of the Brown RNA Center
